JDA engineers escape transfer shuffle, continue long tenures

Jaipur: Even though many personnel in JDA have been transferred after the ACB trap, the JDA administration has not yet “noticed” those field engineers who have been sitting in one place for years. After the ACB trap, officers and employees in most cadres in JDA were transferred from one zone to another. Some officers & employees who came on deputation were sent to their original departments. Junior engineers posted in all zones of JDA were removed by a single order & their zones were changed.

But even in this period of great upheaval, “jugaadi” engineers posted in zonal engineer offices and other offices are holding onto their seats. These include junior engineer and assistant engineer level personnel, who have most important role in any office in terms of field work. There are different categories of these “jugaadi” engineers in terms of their long tenure at one place. There is a long list of junior engineers who have been posted at one place for a long time . Even if they are transferred, within a short time they go back and settle down in same zonal office.

Apart from these, the second category is of those field engineers, who had been sitting in one place for a long time as junior engineers, but when they were promoted and made assistant engineers, they still stayed in same place. Even when they were transferred, these engineers came back to their favourite place due to ‘Jugaad’.

The third category includes those engineers who may not have been at that place for a long time as junior engineers, but even after promotion to the post of assistant engineer, they remained on the same seat on which they were earlier.
