Jacqueline questioned for SEVEN hours for the second time by the EOW in Sukesh Chandrashekhar case
Mumbai (Maharashtra): Jacqueline Fernandez cannot seem to get a break from the constant negative attention she has been receiving recently. The actor who was alleged to be involved in the Sukesh Chandrashekhar money laundering case was brought to Delhi for questioning earlier this month. She was questioned by the Economics Offences Wing for eight hours for the first time. The Kick actor was called in for questioning once again and was grilled for more than seven hours.
The police had found inconsistencies in her statements along with Pinky Irani’s, the person who introduced the actor to the conman, Sukesh Chandrashekhar. They further mentioned that Sukesh had gifted Jacqueline’s agent, Prashanth a motorcycle on his birthday. However, because Prashanth refused to accept the gift, the keys to the vehicle were kept at his house. In the chargesheet filed by the ED, it was noted that Jacqueline received gifts from conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar worth around Rs 5.71 crores of extortion money. There also was a fixed deposit worth Rs 7.12 crores in the name of the actor.
The conman had accepted gifting Jacqueline several expensive gifts including 15 pairs of earrings, five Birkin bags, goods from brands like Chanel and Gucci, and jewellery worth Rs. 7 crores.
Jacqueline had previously denied having an idea of the real identity of Sukesh Chandrashekhar and was clueless about the gifts being bought from extortion money. However, the police had speculations that she was aware of his wrongdoings and yet chose to keep quiet. Whether the actor will be found guilty in the money laundering case, only time will tell.
