Jacqueline Fernandez arrives at the EOW office for questioning in the Sukesh Chandrashekhar money laundering case

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Jacqueline Fernandez has been in troubled water for the past couple of months due to her connection to conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar and the Rs 215 crores money laundering case. Although the actor had previously denied being aware of his business and money laundering schemes, the investigation says otherwise. Hence, the actor had been called once again for questioning which is happening today, September 14.

Jacqueline will be presented before the Economic Offences Wing office in Delhi. There had been reports of her arriving at the office this morning. Reports suggest that cops have prepared a long list of questions that also include her connection to Chandrashekhar and the numerous gifts that he has given her. An officer had confirmed with ANI that the investigation would begin around 11 AM and will go on for a couple of hours. The police had advised the actor to plan her stay accordingly as the questioning might stretch on for days.

An officer was quoted saying, “The questions largely relate to the gifts she had allegedly received from Chandrashekhar. She will be asked how many times she met him or connected with him over the phone during the period when he was posing as a government official from jail to extort the money.”

The EOW has also asked Pinky Irani to join the investigation. Irani is apparently the person who introduced Jacqueline to Sukesh. She was the talking link between the two and helped Sukesh contact the actor.

Earlier, Jacqueline was asked to appear before the police on September 12 but had failed to do so. She had also asked for an extension on the questioning date which was granted.
