It’s a historic day for all North Eastern States: Om Birla

Guwahati: LS Speaker Om Birla while speaking at inaugural ceremony of the new building of Assam Legislative Assembly, said, “I have also become a witness of today's day. It is an important historic day for all states of North East. The first meeting of this Assembly was held in Shillong before Independence in 1937. Different legislative transformations were done after Independence.” Birla also appreciated Assam's Bhupen Hazarika & Gopinath Bordol. He hailed CM Himanta Biswa Sarma & Assam Assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimary’s efforts in construction of new building.

Birla also participated in Chaturmas programme of Acharya Pramukh Sagar Maharaj. “ Non-violence is the ultimate religion,” he said.
