Israel-Hamas war used as "polarization tool," NCP Jitendra Awhad on Assam CM's remarks

Mumbai: Nationalist Congress Party leader Jitendra Awhad on Thursday said that the war between Israel and Hamas is being used as a "polarisation tool" in India and that people don't take Assam BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma seriously.
"Because Palestine is connected to Muslims and Muslim hatred should be brought to India; it is the only plan they have in their minds. This war is being used as a polarisation tool in India," Awhad said.
The NCP leader noted, "I don't think people like Himanta Biswa Sarma need to be taken seriously -those who have hatred in mind and those who do not know what international politics is all about."
Awhad was referring to remarks made by Assam Chief Minister against NCP chief Sharad Pawar whose remarks criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi for standing with Israel in their war against the terrorist organisation Hamas kicked up a political furore.
Sarma gave a bizarre response to Sharad Pawar's comment and said it seems like the NCP chief will send his daughter Supriya Sule to Gaza to fight for Hamas.
Responding to Sarma, Lok Sabha MP Supriya Sule today said the BJP needed to hear Sharad Pawar's speech carefully before making such a comment.
Earlier on October 15, while addressing party workers in Mumbai, the NCP supremo said that the role of former Prime Ministers of India was "to help Palestine".
"The role of Jawaharlal Nehru, Rajiv Gandhi, Indira Gandhi, and Atal Bihari Vajpayee was to help Palestine. For the first time, the Prime Minister of this country supported the role of Israel. The stand of the NCP should be clear. We stand by the people who originally belonged to that land," Pawar said while speaking in Mumbai.
