Is transfer of Kashmiri Pandit govt employees the right way to provide security to them?

New Delhi: In Jammu and Kashmir, it seems that the government is now concerned about the safety of Kashmiri Pandits, so it is transferring them to safer places. Keep in mind, recently a Kashmiri Pandit Rahul Bhatt and after that a large number of Kashmiri Pandits took to the streets and demonstrated demanding security or transfer to Jammu.

After several days of continuous protest, it seems that the government has started transfers. It is being told that Kashmiri Pandit govt employees are being posted to district hedquarters or are being sent to near where they live. Keep in mind that under the Prime Minister’s Rehabilitation Package, Kashmiri Pandits who returned to the Valley were appointed far and wide. Think, there is a BJP government at the Center for eight years, for which Kashmir and Kashmiri Pandits have been a big issue.

The BJP ran the government in the state along with the PDP for many years. After that, President’s rule has been imposed in the state for the last four years. About three years ago, the special status of the state was also abolished and the state was divided. The administration of the state is directly in the hands of the Union Home Ministry. The deployment of army and paramilitary forces is also in large numbers.

Despite this, the government is not able to provide security to Kashmiri Pandits. The government, which claims to have broken the back of terrorists, is unable to protect Kashmiri Pandits and is transferring them. Therefore, no one can say surely if the Kashmiri Pandits would be safe and secured, even after these transfers.
