Mumbai (Maharashtra): The world has kicked off the Pride month and everyone has come out with their rainbow flags. As a month to celebrate, accept and respect queer love and their rights, it also urges people to share queer content as well. Right from movies to songs, content that upholds the queer community is excessively shared. This time, the western audience has chosen to allot the South Indian movie ‘RRR’ as the queer movie of the month!
Yes, you read that right. RRR which gained super success worldwide and entered the 1000 crore club has been deemed as ‘heartwarmingly gay’ by the western audience. Indian filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma also chimed in stating that he was right about his prediction that the audience would find the film gay.

On Thursday, several netizens came out to praise the movie while stating that it was also incredibly gay. One user wrote, “Sorry but RRR is a bl movie for me. They are so gay. Idc about that token white ‘saviour’.” While another wrote, “Jaw-dropping action, yes. Adventure, yes. Revenge, yes. But why did none of you tell me #RRRMovie was so heartwarmingly gay??”

One user added, “Very gay indeed.” One user had some suggestions for the makers, “They should’ve made RRR gay, the potential was right there.” Another user tweeted, “kick off pride month by watching the indian period gay romance action drama RRR on Netflix now.”

Many Indian users also had some similar opinions about the film. One user wrote, “Watched RRR, so basically it’s like your everyday South Indian Movie, but with gay relationship.” While another wrote, “This was my heartstopper.”
Has the Indian bromance become too gay for the young audience or was the chemistry between Ram Charan and Jr NTR so fire that no one could see anything else but queer love? If taken the audience poll, it would probably be the latter.
