Is it Bommai’s failure or BJP’s strategy for future prospects?

New Delhi: Questions are being raised about the political and administrative capability of Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai as the BJP has lost many elections in Karnataka since he became the Chief Minister.

The BJP also lost in Bommai’s own constituency. That’s when there was speculation about his replacement before the assembly elections to be held next year. Meanwhile, the question of administrative capacity has also started to arise.

In two or three districts of the state, there was a dispute over the hijab and saffron gamcha in colleges. There was a lot of hue and cry in Udupi and Shivamogga, but the chief minister suddenly closed high schools and colleges across the state for three days. Nothing can be more incompetent for any government than this.

However, on the other hand some BJP leaders are calling it a strategy claiming that some two decades ago there was a controversy over hoisting the tricolor at the Idgah ground, which paved the way for the BJP to come to power in Karnataka.

Now that the tricolor is being hoisted in colleges and the BJP has complete hold on the electorate, it is in a position to expand to other southern states outside Karnataka.

Informed sources say that the issue of protest against Muslim girl students wearing hijab and Hindu students going to college with saffron gamcha and saffron turban did not arise spontaneously.

This experiment was done three years ago and now the same experiment is being carried forward.

It is also being said that the BJP has reached its peak in North India, from where it will only go down, so preparations are being made to repeat the politics of North India in the southern states.
