Is Azam Khan really distancing himself from SP?

New Delhi: Samajwadi Party MLA Azam Khan is leaving no chance to express his displeasure towards his party and in this regard he is meeting leaders of all parties except SP’s. He has expressed his intention by getting his spokesperson to make a statement against SP and its national president Akhilesh Yadav. He has given the message that he wanted to give to the BJP, and now he hopes to get some relief. But it’s not like he is merely pretending to be against the party and its leader. In fact, Azam Khan actually believes that that by staying with the SP, there is nothing to be gained and now his first priority is to somehow get out of jail.

So, he will continue to give the message that he is distancing from SP. It is thus that he refused to meet SP MLA Ravidas Mehrotra, who came to meet him in jail. But he met Congress leader Pramod Krishnam and also met Shivpal Yadav. His son Abdullah Azam welcomed Rashtriya Lok Dal leader Jayant Singh to his home. Asaduddin Owaisi’s party has sent an invitation to him to join forces with AIMIM.

On the other hand, the SP is also not giving much importance to the developments now. However, the true color of Azam Khan’s politics will be known when the by-election will be announced on the Rampur Lok Sabha seat vacated by his resignation. Owaisi’s party is hoping to establish a foothold in UP and open an account with his support.
