INDIAN ARMY’S 800 KM CYCLING EXPEDITION FLAGGED IN AT LALGARH JATTAN
“HAR KAM DESH KE NAAM”
A 12 member cycling expedition from Kelnor Broder Out Post to Lalgarh Jattan, Sriganganagar, undertaken by 24 Mechanised Infantry (20 Rajput) was flagged in by Brigadier Rohit Teotia, Commander, Kavach Brigade of Chetak Corps at Prerna Sthal (War Memorial), Lalgarh Jattan Military Station on 02 December.
The expedition was organised as part of Swarnim Vijay Varsh Celebrations, to commemorate Victory of India over Pakistan in 1971 War.
The expedition was flagged off from Kelnor Border Out Post on 27 November. Enroute the team interacted with Veterans, Veer Naris and paid homage to brave hearts who made supreme sacrifice during 1971 Indo-Pak War.
The team also interacted with school children & motivated them to join Indian Army. Tree plantation was also carried out by the expedition team enroute with an objective to create awareness ‘Save Our Planet’.
The expedition successfully conveyed the message of gallantry displayed by Indian Army in 1971 War. Besides fostering the spirit of adventure, the cyclists also spread awareness about COVID-19.
Active participation of veterans and local population from all spheres of society helped the expedition achieve its goal.
