Indian Army, Assam govt jointly organise East Tech 2023, display weapons with state-of-the-art technologies in Guwahati

Guwahati: In a bid to send a strong message to China, the Indian army and the Assam government have jointly organized East Tech-2023 in Guwahati and showcased the modern, advanced operational equipment, weapons, technology, robotics, drones used by the Indian army.
As many as 198 companies and start-ups have participated in the East Tech-2023, organized for the first time in Guwahati.

Lt General RP Kalita, GOC of Eastern Command, Assam Industries & Commerce Minister Bimal Bora inaugurated the East Tech - 2023 event.
East Tech-2023 is a pivotal event dedicated to catalyzing innovation and transforming the technology landscape in the heart of Northeast India.

This event promises to be a celebration of cutting-edge advancements and a platform for networking with industry leaders and Indian Start-Ups.
East Tech-2023 is a collaborative effort between the Eastern Army Command and the Assam Government and its primary objective is to identify and embrace cutting-edge technologies that can effectively address operational challenges within the Eastern Theatre and the broader Indian Army.

The initiative is laser-focused on providing comprehensive solutions to enhance Battlefield Transparency, Command and Control Architecture, Communication Systems, Information Dominance, Electronic Warfare, Nano-Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Unmanned warfare systems, Mobility, Chemical-Biological-Radiological-Nuclear (CBRN) Defence, and Advanced Weapon Systems, especially in the context of Counter Insurgency operations.
This event is poised to mark a significant milestone, ushering in a new era of self-reliance in the development and deployment of specialized technologies within the Defense Sector.

It also stands as a catalyst for bolstering the 'Make in India' initiative.
Lt General Manish Erry, GOC of Gajraj Corps told ANI that, this event has been organized in technologies is being used by the Indian army.

"Transformation of Indian army is underway. The biggest pillar of transformation is in a fusion of technology in the way to fight a battle to move ahead and upgrade our equipment. We are also promoting Atmanirbhar Bharat and technology has been developed under Make in India," Lt General Manish Erry said.
He further said that, through this event Indian army can upgrade its equipment purchasing plan for next year.

 
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi is talking about Atmanirbhar Bharat and many companies, Start-Ups have shown their Make in India products in this event. This event will also encourage the new generation," Lt General Manish Erry said.
