IAS cadre swamps PCS officers in UP
Lucknow: Due to the arrival of a large batch of IAS officers in Uttar Pradesh, PCS officers are facing the utmost brunt. Due to the arrival of a large batch of IAS officers, 46 IAS officers are posted on the chair of CDO in the districts while the number of PCS officers has come down from 40 to 9! The number of officers who became CDO after getting promoted from the same Departmental Provincial Development Service (PDS) remains 20 even today. There has been a lot of change in the number of IAS and PCS officers.
The IAS Association always stands with their young PCS officers to deploy them in the districts in which they are accompanied by the IAS officers, however, their PCS association does not even advocate for making PCS officers as CDOs. Due to this, PCS officers are posted only in Ghazipur, Basti, Mau, Etawah, Mainpuri, Saharanpur, Deoria, Azamgarh and Lakhimpur Kheri on the chair of CDO. While IAS 2014 to 2018 batch officers have become CDO, yet 2018 IAS Sanjay Kumar Meena and IAS Kuldeep Meena are waiting for past 7 months to become CDO!
