Hera Pheri film producer, Abdul Gaffar Nadiadwala passes away

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Veteran film producer Abdul Gaffar Nadiadwala passed away at 3 A.M. this morning at the Breach Candy Hospital. The nonagenarian collapsed due to his multiple ailing including diabetes and asthma. The funeral procession took place from his home Barkat, at JVPD Scheme, at around 4 P.M. and will be buried at the Irla Masjid.

A part of the industry since 1984, the film production giant is affectionately known as Gaffarbhai. Known for giving his heart and soul to every project he was involved with; he was extremely passionate about his work. After producing the family drama, Jhuta Sach with Dharmendra and Rekha, he was involved in the action drama Lahoo Ke Do Rang as well as the comedy Hera Pheri. This comedy achieved cult status in India and is considered to be one of the finest comedies ever made in Indian cinema.

His son, fellow producer Firoz Nadiadwala recently announced that they are working on the third part of the film franchise which will be led by the classic trio.

In addition to producing many films, Gaffarbhai also wrote and produced Aa Gale Lag Jaa, Shankar Shambu, Lahoo Ke Do Rang, Jhuta Sach, Watan Ke Rakhwale, Sone Pe Suhaaga and others.
