Happy Birthday to the Global Icon: PM Modi!

Seldom does it happen that life brings forth an individual who does things in his or her own style and who brings about a radical change in whatever field the said individual happens to be functioning in. However, such individuals are extremely rare when it comes to politics. But 72 years ago, on September 17, 1950, a child was born in the house of a tea-seller in Gujarat who, as time progressed changed the political landscape of the nation and had to his distinction a historical achievement of staying in various political offices for over two decades! Needless to say, this individual, who has never lost an election, is Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has, in his eighth year as PM, achieved what his predecessors had long dreamt of taking the nation to. Modi has emerged as the Number One world leader; a leader who has gone past even more ‘powerful’ leaders, whether in economic or military might, when it comes to public approval.

For the third time in a row, recently PM Modi was yet again crowned the undisputed ‘World Leader’ passing the likes of American President Joe Biden, Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi, Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador or Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. It is Modi’s warm-hearted demeanor and the ability to take along even the opposing nations along over issues that benefit the world, that has earned him the respect and admiration of his peers. His warm, long hugs to these peers seem to have been the thaw that was needed in international relations. But Modi has not been all rosy, rather it is his carrot and stick approach that has resonated with the other world leader, especially those from the western block.

With an approval rating of 75 per cent, according to the recent Morning Consult survey, Modi’s popularity is sure to stay for a long time since it does not depend on lip service and giving merely populist schemes, but because his government has ensured that the benefit of populist schemes actually reach till the last end of the society. To the PM, who is also a global icon who works nearly 20 hours a day, First India wishes many many happy returns of the day. Happy Birthday Mr PM!
