Govt forms panel to probe fake info about proposed Gurukul varsity as Bill withdrawn

Jaipur Divisional Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Yadav will head the 4-member committee

Jaipur: Higher Education Department has constituted a four-member high-level committee in the matter of the fake details about the infrastructure of the proposed Gurukul University in Sikar.

The details given in the Bill about the infrastructure of the proposed university were fake due to which the government had to withdraw the bill. Jaipur Divisional Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Yadav will head the committee in which Higher Education department’s Joint Secretary Firoz Akhtar has been made Member Secretary.

Devraj, Financial Advisor of Forest Department, Gajendra Singh, Registrar of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati University Ajmer have also been nominated in the committee.

The committee will examine a report of the physical verification committee on the basis of which the details of infrastructure were included in the bill. The committee will also examine the institute and will submit its report to the department in ten days.

It is worth mentioning that the bill for the establishment of the proposed Gurukul University in Sikar was to be passed in the House on Tuesday.

But before this, Deputy Leader of Opposition Rajendra Rathore raised questions and said that no physical infrastructure existed on the land.

He also said that the land is not located on Jaipur-Sikar Road but it is there in Kochor, 12 kms from Sikar towards Jeenmata. After this, Speaker CP Joshi sought a factual report from Sikar collector which verified that there was no infrastructure on the said land following which the bill was withdrawn.
