Gehlot: Drive against open borewells need of the hour
Jaipur: Former CM Ashok Gehlot expressed grief over the death of a fiveyear-old boy, Aryan, who fell into an open borewell in Dausa on Monday. Gehlot called for a statewide campaign to close open borewells, noting that despite repeated govt orders, they remain common in villages. “The State govt has issued orders to close them many times. Despite this, open borewells are still commonly found in villages,” he posted on X. Gehlot emphasised the need for joint efforts between the government and public to prevent such accidents, with district-wise responsibility and a survey to ensure closure.
