Gandhis in ‘trouble’, Gehlot lands in Delhi to allay worries!

New Delhi: Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot reached New Delhi from Udaipur on Sunday evening to join the Congress’s foot march to be held in Delhi on Monday. Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Gehlot had attended a program at Rajsamand.

On Monday, CM Gehlot will reach AICC office in New Delhi at 9.30 am and join the Congress’s foot march. Meanwhile, Gehlot also interacted with media at Delhi airport and termed the success achieved in Rajya Sabha election was owing to the blessings of the people of the state. “BJP tried hard for horsetrading which is in their nature. I have experience, I was Gujarat, BJP did not leave anyone in Gujarat but BJP was defeated in Rajasthan and could not succeed. I am a worker, and should work in Rajasthan, or in Gujarat and or in the country. I am first and foremost servant of Rajasthan,” he said.

Speaking on ED notice to Sonia Gandhi, Gehlot said, “Rahul & Sonia Gandhi have given a message that we won’t compromise. Will work on ideology, there are pros and cons in democracy. BJP wants to end opposition & CBI, Income Tax, ED, Judiciary are under pressure. If you want to do some work being fair, you can’t do it, such is nation’s situation. No one knows in which direction it will go. The time has come, every Indian should leave the HinduMuslim-Christian rhetoric and think in nation’s interest.”

“Every Indian should think in country.’s interests. Riots are being instigated everywhere. Democracy is in danger today. Now Centre’s target is Rajasthan, which is the biggest state in the country. We are Hindus, we are proud but we should respect other religions too. Congress suffered many sacrifices in 76 years and new generation should read history,” he said.

On BJP considering Gehlot as opposition, he said, “I am the servant of Rajasthan. I have told Raj people Main Thansu Door Nahi. I have to serve the state, which has been entrusted to me by High Command. The budget presented is discussed in the country. The targets that I have made have to be fulfilled through the budget.”

Gehlot also spoke about presidential polls & stressed that without Congress the opposition can’t do anything. “Those who are creating the atmosphere, they should understand that Congress has the most votes. When they know this, why then are they making a joke? They should rather take everyone along. Anyone can take the initiative, but take all the parties along, only then a good and favourable result will come. If the opposition is united then this election cannot be won. Opposition parties should give a message to the politics of the country. Don’t care about winning the election but there should be a message that the opposition of the country is united. Don’t miss the opportunity, this is a golden chance,” he stressed.

On opposition party meeting called by Mamata Banerjee on Monday, Gehlot said that he had no clue & that he was in New Delhi to express his solidarity with Rahul Gandhi. “There must be some conscience. I am thinking of seeking time to talk to director of Income Tax, CBDT and ED and tell them that these institutions are reputed, but look at what opinions are being made in the country about them. Being the CM, its my responsibility to tell. Even without arguments they call to harass. Everyone knows this. Media used to make any issue during Congress rule and we wondered what people would say. Thinking of this, many ministers had resigned. But these (BJP leaders) are shameless people. History will not forgive Modi and Amit Shah. Public will teach everyone a lesson,” he said.
