‘Funds being released for eastern states’

Guwahati: Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria believes that changes should be brought in process of appointment of Vice-Chancellors of universities in Assam. Kataria said this on Friday during an interaction with the journalists from Rajasthan who had come to Assam.

During the meeting, Kataria honoured all the members of the media team. He said that adequate funds are being released by the Government of India for the eastern states and in the coming years, these states will be included among the developed states. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has special attention for the East and special packages are also being issued for Assam and other eastern states, which have received the status of a special state.
