Farmers protest: Raj Bhavan denies getting any bill from Govt to stop auction of farm lands

Jaipur: Farmers organisations on Monday protested demanding the Governor’s approval of bill passed in the State Assembly last year putting stop to auction of farmers’ land.

Farmers’ organizations had given a call for the gherao of Raj Bhavan and had assembled at the martyr’s memorial in the afternoon.

Led by State President of Bharatiya Kisan Union, Rajaram Meel, farmers demanded the enactment of bill pending with Governor.

The police persuaded an eleven- member delegation to go to the Raj Bhavan and submit a memorandum.

However, another leader Himmat Singh Gurjar expressed dissent against the farmers’ move.

Later delegation was escorted by police to Raj Bhavan. In a clarification, Raj Bhavan stated that Anti-Auction Bill is not pending with the Governor. No bill has been sent by the state govt.
