Lucknow: Every PCS officer in UP will have to give an account of his assets between January 1 and 21 every year and failing to do so would result in departmental action. Every officer will also have to give his self-appraisal for the previous financial year online in April every year. Officers failing to do so would face stopping of annual increament besides their promotion would also be effected.

The Yogi Government 2.0 of Uttar Pradesh seems to be now in full action to curb corruption. In this sequence, now about 1,300 PCS officers of UP will have to give online details of their movable and immovable assets every year.

For this the ‘Sparrow-UP’ portal has been prepared whose login and password have also been given to all the officers. The Annual Confidential Entry (NCR) of these officers will also be given online now. Earlier, the government had made it compulsory for ministers and IAS officers to provide details of their assets. This system is already in force through the Department of Personnel and Training, Government of India. Officers have to give their property details online through Sparrow software. On the lines of the system applicable for IAS officers, the UP government has also implemented this system for PCS officers.

In the coming days, it will be mandatory to load the online property papers. Young PCS officers are getting a lot of benefit from the new system. The number of senior PCS in UP is 355 and of junior PCS is 778.
