Dilawar replaces Bairwa to chair sub-committee

Jaipur: In light of ongoing complexities surrounding Dudu district, the Cabinet Sub-Committee established to review the formation of 17 new districts will now be chaired by Minister Madan Dilawar instead of Dy CM Dr. Prem Chand Bairwa. The meeting, held on Wednesday at the Secretariat, directed a reassessment of petitions received from regions aspiring to be included in the new districts.

This shift requires the sub-committee to restart its evaluation process from scratch. Dudu, being the smallest district in the state, has drawn attention as sources indicate that the committee, led by retired IAS officer Lalit K Panwar, has deemed smaller districts to be impractical.

If any amendments to Dudu’s area are made— whether by modifying its boundaries or considering its dissolution—this could create an uncomfortable situation for Dudu’s MLA and Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Prem Chand Bairwa.

Consequently, Minister Madan Dilawar has been appointed as the new convener of the committee.

Revenue Minister Hemant Meena stated that the committee has not yet reached a conclusion but aims to submit a report soon. The inaugural meeting under Minister Mdan Dilawar’s coordination also saw participation from Water Supply Minister Kanhaiya Lal Chaudhary and Minister Suresh Singh Rawat, while Industry Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore joined via video conferencing from Abu Dhabi.
