Defying Bollywood stars and their beliefs, Yash rejects Pan masala ad worth crores

Mumbai (Maharashtra): KGF: Chapter 2 has been making a lot of noise for all the right reasons. The movie that took its leading actor, Yash to superstardom, KGF 2 is breaking records in the Indian film industry. But the film is not only garnering attention for its engaging story, visuals and music but its hero as well. Yash has impeccably played the character of Rocky Bhai. But there is a contrasting difference between his reel character and his real life.

Rocky who heavily smokes and drinks is the opposite of who Yash is in reality. The actor is known for his humility and respect toward his fans and has proven that he is a real gentleman on many occasions. One such instance was recently shared by Arjun Banerjee, the talent and new ventures head of the company that handles the star’s brand endorsements. He revealed that the actor has rejected an endorsement of a pan masala and Elaichi brand worth crores.

According to ETimes, Banerjee said in a statement, “I remember when we became a part of the team with Yash and his longtime friend and associate Prashant in March 2020, we created an informal group for communication and it was named ‘storm is coming' that is the belief he is instilled in us, at a time when no one knew when will the filming of KGF2 will complete let alone release and be a monstrous hit.”

He further said that they want to send out the right message with the kind of brands they associate themselves with, adding, “At this point, we as a team are looking at long-term partnerships only, whether it’s in the form of strategic investments, endorsements, or equity deals. Recently we declined a double-digit multi-crore offer from a pan masala brand and are going to be extremely mindful of who we associate with. Given his pan-India appeal, we want to use this opportunity to give the right kind of message to his fans and followers and invest our time and sweat with brands that have a conscience, are like-minded, and want to play the long game, just like the man himself.”

This statement comes as a slap in the face of Bollywood actors who have recently been accused of being a wrong influence on the young generations with their pan masala and Elaichi brand advertisements. Akshay Kumar had even issued a public apology for his association with Vimal Elaichi and had claimed to not further endorse them.
