Covid threat: Govt to boost testing, conduct serosurvey

Jaipur: Following an increase in Covid-19 cases in China, the State Government has also started preparing to prevent the spread of coronavirus in Rajasthan. Secretary of the Medical and Health Department Dr Prithivi on Friday chaired a meeting of department officials in the health directorate and reviewed the arrangements for covid management. During the meeting, it was decided to conduct a serosurvey to check the immunity of people and increase the testing. “All the issues were discussed in detail regarding the corona management. Presently, there is no need to worry for Rajasthan as the the positivity rate of in Rajasthan has been only 0.1 per cent in the last few weeks. Everyday testing of five thousand people is being done and it has been directed to increase the testing,” said Dr Prithvi. “The microbiology department of SMS Hospital has been made the nodal agency for conducting the serosurvey. The survey is being conducted to know the immunity status of the people.,” added Secretary Dr Prithvi.
