Congress in tizzy about Sudhakaran’s statements

New Delhi: Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi made K Sudhakaran the state president of Kerala Congress. The party has not benefited much from his becoming the president, rather his statements are definitely causing trouble to the party. He has given two such statements recently, due to which the Congress is cornered. Not only have the Left parties raised questions on these statements, but the Indian Union Muslim League, an ally of the Congress, has also criticized them. Although some experts of Kerala politics say that while Sudhakaran’s statement looks harmful for the Congress, but Congress can get benefit from it in the elections. He first said that many decades ago, when people from Communist parties did not allow RSS people to set up shakhas and used to attack them, he (Sudhakaran) used to protect Sangh people by sending his own people. After that he said that the country’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru was very democratic and had made Syama Prasad Mukherjee a minister in his government by compromising with the fight against fascism.
