"Congress gave IIT, IIM, ISRO...": Kharge slams KCR, BJP for secret alliance in Telangana

Rangareddy: Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge alleged on Saturday that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have formed an alliance, asserting that their silence toward each other is indicative of a secret agreement between them.

Highlighting the achievements of the Congress party over the years, Kharge presented Congress report card, saying, "Congress gave IIT, IIM, AIIMS, ISRO, DRDO, SAIL, HAL, BEL, ONGC and a united country".

"BJP and BRS have now become friends. When there are some inside deal, they can't speak against each other.
While addressing a public meeting in Rangareddy, Mallikarjun Kharge said, " BJP says that Congress has done nothing in the past 53 years, they ask us to show the report card.In Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh, they asked this question what we (Congress) have done in 53 years. I don't know whether they will ask this question in Telangana as KCR and BJP have become friends. This is an internal friendship, they can not speak aloud about this."

Kharge further targeted Telangana CM KCR over not joining the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) bloc.

"We 26 parties are ready to remove PM Modi led-BJP govt at Centre. But KCR never attended any meetings and never said that to remove BJP (at Centre). Here they (BRS) say that they (BRS) are secular but on the same hand they are discussing things with them(BJP)," he said.
"But we are bringing all opposition together. We had meetings in Patna, then at my house and more such meetings will take place. And what is our aim? To remove the BJP from the centre and those who support the BJP, like KCR, from the state,” Kharge said.

" Sardar Patel and former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru united the fragmented country after 1947. Who gave the Constitution? Who gave IIT, IIM, AIIMS, ISRO, DRDO, SAIL, HAL, BEL, ONGC? Congress gave all these and a strong, united country. We set up big factories in Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, and Kanpur. Which big factory did the BJP set up but today they think they did everything?" Kharge questioned BJP while detailing Congress report card.
Earlier Telangana Chief Minister and BRS national president, K Chandrashekar Rao, on August 2 declared that his party was neither with the I.N.D.I.A, the Opposition bloc, nor the BJP-led NDA.

KCR clarified that the BRS was not alone as it has like-minded partners.
"What is this INDIA? They (Congress) ruled the country for over 50 years and could not bring any change to the country. The country is calling for change," he said.

Meanwhile, Bharat Rashtra Samithi on August 21 released the first list of 115 candidates for the upcoming state legislative assembly elections.
The 2023 Telangana legislative assembly election is scheduled to be held later this year to elect all 119 members of the state's legislature.
