Coal scarcity: ACS assures uninterrupted power supply

Jaipur: Energy Department Additional Chief Secretary Dr Subodh Agarwal has said that despite the impending coal crisis due to delay in coal mining approval in Chhattisgarh, a smooth power supply will be maintained in the state. Immediate and long term measures are being taken for the same, he added.

He discussed all possible options in a highlevel meeting with the concerned officials including Chairman DISCOMs Bhaskar A. Sawant and CMD Vidyut Utpadan Nigam RK Sharma at Vidyut Bhawan on Friday.

Dr Agrawal informed that CM Gehlot in his instructions has clearly said that the power supply should be maintained without any interruption.

On Wednesday and Thursday Minister of State for Power Bhanwar Singh Bhati and ACS Agrawal met Union Energy Minister RK Singh, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Coal Secretary Anil Kumar Jain.
