CM’S SECRETARIAT STREAMLINES WORK DIVISION FOR FASTER DECISION-MAKING

Jaipur: Work division was done on Wednesday among the officers of the Chief Minister’s Secretariat to increase efficiency and implement decisions faster. The work division has been done between ACS Shikhar Agrawal and Principal Secretary Alok Gupta as ACS Shikhar Agrawal and Principal Secretary Alok Gupta are appointed in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.

Till now, files of all departments used to go to the CM through ACS Shikhar Agrawal, but now the departments’ files allotted to Alok Gupta, will go through Alok Gupta. Notably, Shikhar Agrawal is senior to Alok Gupta as he is a 1993 batch IAS officer while Alok Gupta is a 1996 batch IAS officer. However, no formal orders have been issued in this regard, rather the new arrangement has been informed to all Special/Joint Secretaries, Deputy Secretaries, and OSDs.

Notably, Shikhar Agrawal has been allotted PHED, Mines and Petroleum, RIICO, Home, Medical and Health, UDH, LSG, Transport & Civil Aviation, DOP, GAD, Motor Garage, Revenue, and other departments. At the same time, Alok Gupta has DIPR, Finance, PWD, General Administration of CMO, Tourism Art and Culture, Archaeology & Museum, Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Watershed & Soil Conservation, Labour, Employment & Skill, Education Department, Social Justice, Minority Affairs, Waqf, Disabilities and other departments. Thus, most of the important departments are with Shikhar Agrawal.
