Cleric urges Muslims to unite, shun hatred

Lucknow: Expressing concern over communal tension at several places in the country, Abul Qasim Nomani, Darul Uloom Deoband Vice Chancellor, has said that Muslims should not be afraid; rather, they should be prepared to deal with courage any untoward situation. In an audio released by Nomani, widely shared on social media, he said Muslims should not only pray for strength but also be ready to face the situation with their whole strength.

Nomani said Muslims should refrain from any illegal and sinful activities and follow Islamic preaching and also present real picture of Islam in front of their neighbours and country. He said hatred can be countered with real Islam. He also expressed concern over silence of political leaders over the incidents. Meanwhile, SP leader from Aligarh Rubina Khanam warned that Hindu organisations should not try to bring down loudspesakers from mosques as it was a religious matter
