Chopra’s silver clinching throw!

New Delhi: While a nation was asleep, Neeraj Chopra scripted history as he became only the second Indian athlete to win a medal at World Athletics Championships on early Sunday morning (IST). He registered a throw of 88.13m in the final to bring home the silver medal, ending the nation’s wait for a medal since Anju Bobby George claimed bronze medal in the 2003 edition of games for her performance in long jump. Neeraj Chopra tried his best but failed to beat Anderson Peters, who breached 90m-mark.
