Chiranjeevi honoured with the Indian Film Personality of the Year Award

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Chiranjeevi is surely one of the most celebrated artists in the Indian film industry right now. The actor has worked in the film industry for more than four decades and is lovingly called Master by all his fans. Honouring his years of work in revolutionizing Indian cinema, Master Chiranjeevi was bestowed with the Indian Film Personality of the Year Award at the 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI).

In an emotional speech, the Stalin star expressed his gratitude to the film fraternity and his fans. He mentioned that some recognitions are special and this award falls into that category. He further stated that he was born into a middle-class family, to humble parents and owes all his fame, name, charisma and privileges to the film industry. The actor had left the industry in 2008 to pursue his political career and had been missing from films for several years. Recalling his decision to take a hiatus, Chiranjeevi said he regretted his choice. He further vowed to his fans not to leave the industry ever again.

Chiranjeevi also called himself a slave of the Telugu film fans around the world and mentioned that it is because of them that he has received this honour.

The 67-year-old will next be seen in the action entertainer, Waltair Verrayya. The film is directed by Bobby and is scheduled to release on Sankranthi 2023. The film also stars Ravi Teja in a pivotal role along with Shruti Haasan as the leading lady.

GK Mohan is co-producing the film under the banner of Mythri Movie Makers, which is sponsored by Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar. The film's cinematography was handled by Arthur A Wilson, while editing was handled by Niranjan Devaramane.
