Channi and Capt’s meets with Shah betrayal to Punjab: AAP

Chandigarh: The Punjab unit of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has termed the recent meetings of Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and former CM Capt Amarinder Singh a betrayal to the interests of Punjab.

Senior Punjab AAP leader and Leader of Opposition (LoP) Harpal Singh Cheema said on Tuesday that the meeting between officiating Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and former CM Capt Amarinder Singh with Union Home Minister Amit Shah as ‘betrayal to Punjab’ and said that the Congress, Capt Amarinder, Bharatiya Janata Party and Badals have always pursued anti-Punjab policies and conspiracies.

Cheema alleged that Bhakra Beas Management Committee and the Chandigarh issue was an excuse, the agenda of meetings of Channi and Captain with Amit Shah was to stop the formation of AAP government in Punjab. In a statement issued on Tuesday, Cheema said that the issue of ending Punjab’s share in Bhakra Beas Management Board and Chandigarh has been on the minds of the people for a long time now, because BJP used Punjab Assembly Elections as distraction to implement many anti-Punjab decisions.

He said that the Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, Capt. Amarinder Singh and Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa remained silent against the tyranny of the Centre.

Now that all exit polls are indicating the formation of the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab, the leaders of these traditional parties are again coming together to hatch conspiracies against Punjab and Aam Aadmi Party.

Cheema said if CM Channi had talked to Amit Shah about the issues of Punjab, then he should inform the people about solutions of those issues, because in his last meeting with Shah, Channi handed over half of Punjab to the Union Government and BSF’s ambit was expanded to 50 KMs
