New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Microsoft cofounder Bill Gates discussed a wide range of issues from Artificial Intelligence to Digital Public Infrastructure and efforts to combat climate change in a free-wheeling chat at the PM’s residence in New Delhi on Friday. In the conversation, Bill Gates praised Indians for their ability to adopt technology fast as well as lead the way while PM Modi encouraged the Microsoft boss to take a selfie using the Photo Booth on Prime Minister’s Namo App.

Modi jokingly said that kids in India have become so advanced that they are saying ‘AI’ as their first word. “In India, we call mother ‘aai’ in most of the states and now some advanced kids are saying AI as their first word…it’s a joke but aai and AI sound similar’. Modi also shared with Gates that his Hindi speech was translated into Tamil during Kashi Tamil Sangamam event using AI.
