Brahmastra's magic could not survive week 3; will it be able to collect Rs 300 crore?

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Brahmastra had a blasting 2 weeks at the box office where it collected Rs 300 crore globally and had a good business of Rs 200 crore domestically. The film opened to mixed reviews by the audience and critics but continued to soar more and more. It has now become the second highest-grossing film of 2022 in India. The Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer was even highly criticised for its sloppy dialogues and cliché screenplay. However, that did not affect the audience from storming the theatres. But the collection has significantly dropped in its third week with this Monday being the lowest yet.

While there was a dip in the collection on the second Monday, the fall was not alarming enough. But now, the Monday collection has decreased by 15% by this week and it seems that the numbers will keep falling furthermore. This raises the concern about whether they will be available to collect Rs 300 crores domestically. This week will also witness Cinema Day which will be celebrated by charging Rs 75 for every movie ticket. This may add to the falling numbers of the film’s collection.

The Ayan Mukerji directorial is the first film among the Astraverse trilogy with the second film's script under work. While Brahmastra starred Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy, Amitabh Bachchan and Nagarjuna, the second film is rumoured to star none other than Deepika Padukone. However, the male lead of the sequel is yet to be confirmed.
