BJP youth wing to hold protest against Rahul over Savarkar ‘insult’

Mumbai: The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, the BJP's youth wing, said on Thursday it will organise a protest against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his "continuous and deliberate insult" of the country's freedom fighters.
The protest will coincide with the third meeting of the Opposition alliance — INDIA, which will feature Congress's Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, among others.
Members of BJP's youth wing alleged that the Congress leader, time and again, made derogatory remarks against Veer Savarkar, adding that an insult to the freedom fighter was an insult to the country.
The BJP youth wing said it would protest against the "anti-national and anti-Hindu Rahul Gandhi" and the "corrupt Mahathagabandhan" (INDIA) in Maharashtra.
During its two-day meeting, the INDIA partners will pick up from where they left off in their last huddle at Bengaluru and carry forward the process of laying a broader roadmap against the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) at the Centre.
While the discussion among the partner leaders in the bloc would centre on the battle plan for the next general elections and a seat-sharing formula, the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) is also likely to unveil its logo during the two-day meeting starting Thursday.
The INDIA leaders would go into an informal huddle on Thursday and the same would be followed by a formal meeting on September 1.
Significantly, this would mark the first meeting of the Opposition alliance in a state where none of the INDIA partners are in power. Maharashtra is currently under the rule of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), comprising the Shiv Sena, BJP and the rival NCP faction led by Ajit Pawar.
