BJP mounts aggressive social media campaign to target youth
Lucknow: The Bhartiya Janata Party government (BJP) juggernaut seems to have shifted onto the 4X4 mode with party now looking to fire on all cylinders ahead of UP Assembly polls here.
With 100-odd days left for UP Assembly Elections 2022, BJP is spreading its umbrella making space for people from all walks of society. While the party is trying to woo people from the rural stretches through its Booth management tactics, it has taken to social media to make its message reach out to the youth.
The party has been brainstorming in order to influence gen-z whose votes weigh equally to anyone else’s.
It has come to fore that members of the IT and Social media cell have been asked to thrust in works done by Modi government at the Centre and Yogi government at the state level.
The BJP is organising conferences with IT cell volunteers in all of UP’s 18 divisions, to ready them for election work.
BL Santhosh, General Secretary (Organisation), who was in Western UP of late, has said that every youth of UP must know the schemes of the Centre and the State.
“It should be on every one’s phone, informing them about the good work done by the BJP to strengthen the country,” Santhosh was quoted as saying.
A state-level conference in Lucknow in August was addressed by CM Yogi, UP BJP General Secretary (Organisation) Sunil Bansal and national IT cell chief Amit Malviya.
Having said that, there’s a certain resentment in the people, especially those who suffered Covid-19, who lost someone in their family or the ones who toiled hard for beds, medicines etc. during the second wave.
“We understand there are a lot of people who support us and there may be some who don’t. To them, we would like to make things clearer about how we’re going about solving their problems,” said a spokesperson to First India.
