Bajrang Dal workers cause a ruckus at the Mahakal temple ahead of team Brahmastra’s visit

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Ayan Mukerji are currently busy with the promotions of their upcoming film, Brahmastra which is slated to release this Friday. The film that has an ensemble star cast has been a vision of Ayan for almost ten years. Hence, it has many fans rooting for its success. But as the boycott Bollywood trend has started losing its significance, anyone gets up one day and decides to discredit someone’s hard work. The same happened with the cast of Brahmastra who were ready to visit the Mahakal temple in Ujjain to pray for the success of their film.

Alia Bhatt posted an update on her social media on September 6 where she shared a video of her, Ranbir Kapoor and Ayan Mukerji sitting in the car getting ready to drive to the temple. But before the trio could reach the location, a group of Bajrang Dal workers stormed the temple gate and chanted slogans of Shri Ram. According to them, Ranbir Kapoor had apparently insulted the holy Gaumata in the film and hence, they felt the need to ban Brahmastra.

Seeing the ruckus outside the temple, Alia refused to go ahead with the plan. All three of them were taken to the Distributor, Ashish Das’ house. The police tried to control the Bajrang Dal crowd but it went all in vain when they scuffled with the police. However, Ayan Mukerji made his wish come true and visited the temple late at night to pray for the success of his film.

Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna. The film is the first part of the Brahmastra trilogy that takes place in the Astraverse created by Ayan Mukerji. The film is slated to release in the theatres on September 9.
