Ayan Mukerji finally breaks his silence over the trolling of Kesariya

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Ever since the teaser of the song ‘Kesariya’ had dropped in April, fans were eagerly waiting to listen to the whole song which had been teased by the makers from time to time. When the song finally reached the audience on July 17, people rushed to the internet to listen to the entirety of the melodious track.

The song was released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam and became an instant hit on the internet. But with a lot of love, the song also welcomed a meme-fest on the internet due to the random addition of an English word in the otherwise fluently Hindi song. Many found the word ‘Love storiya’ nothing but cringe in the rather beautiful track and took to social media to share their disapproval through an array of memes. Several others also called it an Elaichi in Biryani.

Finally breaking the silence on the issue, filmmaker Ayan Mukherjee was seen clearing the air with the lyric in a Reddit video. Ayan was seen saying, “We put it with a lot of love, we found it very interesting. We did not find it like elaichi, we thought it was a twist like bahut shakkar me thoda namak jab aata hai, uska ek maza, ek swaad hai (it’s not like a cardamon in biryani, it’s like salt amid too much sugar, it has its own taste). Because the film is a modern film and the lyrics of the song are so traditional and simple, this would have been a fun twist. I still feel that in some time, people will actually start enjoying it even more.”

The lyrics of the Hindi version were written by Amitabh Bhattacharya who is known for writing many famous songs such as ‘Zinda’ from Lootera, ‘Abhi Mujh Mien Kahin’ from Agneepath, ‘Kahani’ from Laal Singh Chaddha and many such other wonderfully melodious tracks.
