"Attempt to silence voices..." AAP leader Priyanka Kakkar on arrest of Arvind Kejriwal
Ranchi: Launching a scathing attack on the BJP-led central government before the 'Maha rally' to be held by the leaders of the INDIA bloc at Delhi's Ramlila Maidan on Sunday, AAP leader and party's national spokesperson, Priyanka Kakkar, said that the arrest of the Delhi CM is an attempt to silence the voices.
Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the ED on March 21. He is in custody till April 1.
Kakkar also informed that CM Arvind Kejriwal's wife, Sunita Kejriwal, will attend the INDIA Alliance rally and will also convey a statement from the Delhi CM.
"Sunita Kejriwal will attend the INDIA alliance rally and she will also convey a statement from Arvind Kejriwal. It can be clearly seen how we have been targeted in the last 2 years in the name of a fake investigation. Without any proof, just based on a few statements, the sitting CM was arrested. This is an attempt to silence the voices. Whoever asks questions to the BJP, they are being sent to jail," the AAP national spokesperson said.
Jharkhand CM Champai Soren who is also going to attend the rally said, "We have to abolish the dictatorship and save the democracy."
Criticising the INDIA bloc's 'Maha Rally', BJP national spokesperson Jaiveer Shergill called the rally the meet up of "Alibaba and Chaalis chor (40 thieves)," whose objective is to devise a strategy on how to do corruption and loot India.
"The INDI opposition meeting happening in Delhi today is not a political gathering but 'Alibaba and Chaalis Chor (40 thieves)' meet up where the only objective is to devise a strategy on how to do corruption and loot India. The Congress in the rally must explain how the same Congress, which is a complainant in the liquor scam, is seeking Kejriwal's arrest and investigation against him, is today holding a rally objecting to his arrest," he said.
"Aam Aadmi Party's political desperation and frustration are evident as it shared a stage with RJD when Kejriwal called Lalu Prasad Yadav corrupt, and a stage with Congress, which Aam Aadmi Party called corrupt on a daily basis. The voter of 2024 is seeing that. The glue which holds this INDI together is love for the corrupt," the BJP leader added.
