Sand mines with environmental clearance given a go-ahead by SC
Jaipur: After the Supreme Court lifted the ban on gravel mining in Rajasthan, mining activities will now be able to resume after about 4 years.
The Supreme Court on Thursday said that the sand mines whose environmental clearance has come, should be started. Environmental clearance of the rest of the mines should also be issued following the recommendations of 2014-15. The people of Rajasthan were waiting for this decision of the Supreme Court.
This petition was filed by Naveen Sharma, State President of All Rajasthan Gravel Truck Union, seeking the resumption of 82 big sand mine leases of the state. He himself was representing the case in the court.
