Are Alia Bhatt-Ranbir Kapoor paying a tribute to Rishi Kapoor by naming their daughter after him?

Mumbai (Maharashtra): The year 2022 has been for Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor as the duo are at their all-time high, professionally and personally. The actors who tied the knot earlier this year announced their pregnancy soon after and welcomed their baby earlier this month. Not only that, but they have had a commercially successful film together that created a lot of buzz. Now, all eyes are on the little Kapoor munchkin as the new Mom and Dad brought her home recently. While reports suggest that the celebrity couple has shortlisted names for their daughter, it seems that they want to pay tribute to Ranbir’s father, the late actor, Rishi Kapoor.

Alia and Ranbir unanimously decided to pick out a name for their baby that pays a tribute to the late Rishi Kapoor. Sources reveal that when the news was disclosed to grandmother, Neetu Kapoor, she was overwhelmed and left in tears.

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor welcomed their daughter around 12:05 PM on November 6. The actor shared the news on her social media with an adorable post. It said, “And in the best news of our lives:- Our baby is here...and what a magical girl she is. We are officially bursting with love - Blessed and obsessed PARENTS!!!! The duo could be seen bringing their daughter home in a car and both of them had a lot of love to share with the paps. Alia even gave a glimpse into her life post-pregnancy when she posted a blurred image of her holding out a “Mama” mug in front of the camera. The new Mom and Dad tied the knot on April 14 after four years of dating. They announced their pregnancy at the end of June and welcomed their baby earlier this month. The duo who fell in love on the sets of their first film together, Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva, enjoyed the success of their film this year as well. Brahmastra, directed by Ayan Mukerji, became one of the highest-grossing films this year.
