Anupam Kher praises the bravery of Mahima Chaudhary after battling cancer

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Anupam Kher posted a video on his Instagram feed featuring Mahima Chaudhary talking about her battle with breast cancer. The actor applauded the bravery and the valour of the Pardes actress for going through something huge and yet emerging stronger as ever. It was the first time Mahima opened up about her cancer treatment and showed herself in a buzz cut, an aftereffect of chemotherapy.

Kher wrote in the caption, “Story of @mahimachaudhry1 ‘s courage and Cancer: I called #MahimaChaudhry a month back from the US to play a very important role in my 525th film #TheSignature. Our conversation turned to her discovering that she has #BreastCancer. What followed is in this candid conversation between us. Her attitude will give hope to so many women all over the world. She wanted me to be part of her disclosing about it.”

He further added, “She calls me an eternal optimist but dearest Mahima! “You are my HERO!” Friends! Send her your love, warmth, wishes, prayers and blessings. She is BACK on sets where she belongs. In the video, the actress shared that she showed no symptoms and found out about the lump during an annual checkup. Further talking about going through chemotherapy, she revealed that the women and a young boy coming for the therapy alongside her gave her the courage to stay strong. She shared, “I wasn’t very brave during the treatment and was constantly weeping and crying, till I heard the voice of a little boy. I just looked at him during my half chemo and just to make conversation with him I said, “Arre aapki dawai itni hi hai, meri toh itni saari hai”. “Isi se toh thik honge”, he replied. I then said, “Haa but fir main aisi hi das leti rehti hu, mujhe bohot takleef hoti hail” to which he replied, “Mujhe bhi. Main paanch din leta rehta hu, fir main khelne jaata hu”. So, I was like wow.”

Mahima Chaudhary who was crowned Miss India in 1990 is known for her extensive filmography with films like Dhadkan, Lajja and Pardes.
