An Engrossing, Larger than Life Action Saga with Some Stellar Performances by Yash and Sanjay Dutt

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Ever since the tremendous success of KGF: Chapter 1, everyone was eagerly waiting for its sequel and finally Yash starrer KGF: Chapter 2 has also been released in cinema halls. Prashanth Neel crafted the characters and storyline of this gangster franchise in style and takes the story ahead from KGF: Chapter 1, where Raja Krishnappa Bairya aka Rocky Bhai's intention to gain power and rule KGF unintentionally. Although Neel had announced the sequel of Chapter 1 on a high note, like 'Bahubali', more than 3.5 years ago, the film managed to survive the lapsing time and the makers were successful in creating the desperation among the audience to watch the story unfold from where it was left off. But the biggest question is, is this KGF: Chapter 2 better than Chapter 1? So, the answer is yes, because the story has become bigger and its treatment is also amazing which will live up to the expectations of the audience. There also is a surprise in store at the climax.

Story:

King Krishnappa Bairya aka Rocky Bhai (Yash) has captured the Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) on the strength of his cleverness and bravery after killing Garuda and plans to expand his empire, thereby increasing his enemies. His enemies enlist the help of the mighty Adheera (Sanjay Dutt) to eliminate him. From here, the film sees the Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) escalating into a bloody battle for power. While Rocky and Adheera are still at war, Prime Minister Ramika Sen (Raveena Tandon) enters the storyline. The purpose of the character is to destroy Rocky and the empire he set up. You have to watch the movie to see how Ramika Sen deals with Rocky.

Acting:

No matter how much one praises Yash’s acting in the film, it will still be less in front of the performance he delivered. He has breathed life into the character of Rocky Bhai. Rocky's body language and dialogue delivery are superb, which Yash has played in a very unique way and has also rocked the action sequences. Similarly, Sanjay Dutt's role as Adheera gives an example of how a tremendous villain should be opposite a heroic hero. Raveena Tandon has done well as the PM of India and deserves all the praise she is getting. However, not much was kept for Srinidhi Shetty to do in the film which felt a bit disappointing.

Direction:

Prashant Neel has played the role of 'Captain of the Ship' i.e., the director of this film with a great heart. He has directed several scenes so wonderfully that it leaves the watcher content from within. Prashant understood the importance of the hero and villain concept very well and beautifully carved it on the screen. Be it the introduction sequence of Rocky or the climax fight between Yash and Sanjay Dutt, each and every scene is shot in a stylish manner that pulls the viewers into the world of KGF.

Drawbacks:

Although this film is a mass entertainer, for those who do not like films with violence, this film is not for them and not for children at all. At the same time, its uneven pace in the first half of the film also bothers you a bit.

Why you should watch it:

First of all, it has a great story. Second of all, fantastic acting by Yash, Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon and great direction by Neil blend together perfectly to give you many awesome scenes that will glue you to your chair till the end. Amazing background music is the cherry on the top. The stunt sequence of KGF: Chapter 2 deserves a special mention. They are grand and new. Music Editor Ujjwal Kulkarni, Cinematographer Bhuvan Gowda and Ravi Basrur have taken KGF: Chapter 2 to a different level.

With a scene hinting at KGF: Chapter 3 at the end of the movie, fans are now excited for the next instalment in this thrilling and amazing series.
