Amid the falling collection numbers, Brahmastra is saved by National Cinema Day!
Mumbai (Maharashtra): Brahmastra has been in the cinemas for two whole weeks and although the collection numbers were decreasing, the third week saw the lowest collection of the film. Starting with a downward Monday, the numbers further decreased as the week ascended. There were also speculations that the National Cinema Day would affect the business majorly as film tickets would be sold at Rs 75 across all theatres. But it seems that the phenomenon was quite opposite and audiences rather stormed the cinemas to watch the film on the big screen.
According to several reports, the film made around Rs 9 to 11 crores which is a massive jump from the usual 3 crores. According to Bollywood Hungama, the film's occupancy was around 85% which is really high for a movie that has been in the theatres for around three weeks. The second week had seen Brahmastra start its Monday with a Rs 4.80 crores and end at Thursday with around Rs 3.10 crores.
Thr advance booking numbers also saw a surge with over six lakh tickets being sold at three national cinema chains with the National Cinema Day around the corner.
Brahmastra had a massive opening with the first week itself earning around Rs 100 crores. While it opened at Rs 36 crores, the film closed the first weekend at Rs 120.75 crores.
