Amethi’s 1st non-Gandhi contender in 25 years

Amethi: For the first time in 25 years, no Gandhi family member will be running for election in Amethi, a Lok Sabha constituency in UP that has long been associated with Gandhis. Since 1967, Amethi has been represented by Gandhi family member, except for 1970s and 1990s. On Friday, Congress candidate from Amethi for Lok Sabha polls, Kishori Lal Sharma filed his nomination. He said that election is just a formality and who will win or who will lose it’s in people’s hands and we will work hard.
