All parties launch blitzkrieg campaign for last round of UP polls

Lucknow: In the ongoing assembly elections, now the last phase of voting is going to be held in the most eastern part of UP, which has always had a significant influence in the politics of the state Varanasi, the parliamentary constituency of PM Modi, is the focal point of this phase.

For this last round, all the political parties are putting their full strength to campaign for the elections. PM Modi himself is strengthening the prospects of BJP by camping in Varanasi.

PM Modi is most likely to lead a roadshow in the city in support of the BJP candidates, just like he had done in the 2017 elections.

CM Yogi and other senior functionaries from the central and state party units are camping in Varanasi with the PM to monitor the party’s campaign in Varanasi and adjoining districts.

Along with them, dozens of BJP leaders including Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, JP Nadda, Ravi Kishan, Manoj Tiwari will continue to register their presence in the campaign of Kashi and surrounding areas till March 5. Star campaigners of BJP are promoting issues like Kashi Vishwanath Dham, Vindhyachal Temple Corridor and Purvanchal Expressway related to Kashi region as big achievements of their party.

Akhilesh Yadav along with CM Mamata Banerjee organized a joint public meeting on Thursday. For this, Aidhe village of Harhua block of Varanasi was selected after much deliberation; this village located between the three assembly constituencies Shivpur, North and Ajra. In fact, it is being seen as a deft move to convey a strong message to the voters of not only Varanasi but the adjoining districts of Mirzapur, Chandauli and Bhadohi.
