AKHILESH’S TROUBLES AGGRAVATE AFTER BEING SLAMMED BY OWN CAMP

Lucknow: During the budget session of the UP Legislature, Leader of Opposition Akhilesh Yadav, who is toiling to surround the Yogi government, has to bear the salvo being fired from within his own camp.

The SP leaders were worried about the absence of Shivpal Singh Yadav and Azam Khan in the meeting of Samajwadi Party MLAs on Sunday, exactly a day later, SBSP Chief Omprakash Rajbhar’s direct verbal attack against the SP Chief has created an uncomfortable situation for the latter. It would be pertinent to mention that Akhilesh Yadav has been grappling with the discontent of his party leaders and allies since the humiliating defeat in the recently concluded assembly elections in UP. Earlier, the political grapevine has been abuzz after the meeting of RLD chief Jayant Choudhary with Azam Khan in Sitapur jail without consulting his ally SP. In the past, while dropping letter bomb, former state president of RLD Masood Ahmed accused Jayant Chaudhary and Akhilesh Yadav of adopting a dictator’s attitude. He has also alleged that the SP-RLD alliance sold the tickets to the candidates for the assembly elections-2022. Moreover, SP’s ally Mahan Dal chief Keshav Dev Maurya also expressed discontent against SP leadership by saying that his party was not given adequate seats in comparison to other partners, nor was his cadre properly utilized in the election campaign.

Azam Khan’s supporters have already leveled allegations against the SP supremo, expressing strong displeasure over being ignored by the party while in jail. Sultanpur SP leader Salman Javed Raeen resigned from the SP, anguished by Akhilesh Yadav’s silence over the alleged excesses committed by state government against Azam Khan, Shahzil Islam and Nahid Hasan.

Following the same suit, former minister of the SP government, Irshad Khan also broke ties with the SP. Shivpal Singh Yadav, the chief of Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party Lohia, who won the election as an SP candidate, is already hurt by his nephew Akhilesh’s alleged neglect after the election results. Akhilesh Yadav’s direct reprimand by the leader of the ally added to the troubles further. In such an odd situation, the SP will have to divest its energy in rearranging its camp before taking on the BJP government..
