EXCLUSIVE! Akashdeep Arora: film’s success begins on sets

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Akashdeep Arora is one of the emerging actors that has tried his hands on different genres in the short span of his career. Someone who wishes to experiment with roles, Akashdeep was recently seen essaying the role of Monty on the Disney+ Hotstar’s ‘Masoom’. Talking to City First, the actor revealed his experience with Masoom, Uri: The Surgical Strike and more.

Talking about Masoom, he said, “The experience was amazing. I can’t even express the incredible journey I had on the show. The kind of show it is and the kind of people they are in real life are totally different. They are very warm people and very caring. They are understanding towards each other and every person on the set. The love that they shared was incredible and that’s the only reason I feel that we are getting so much love from the audience who has watched this show.”

Recalling the time when Boman Irani appreciated the actor through a personal text after the shooting of Masoom ended, Akashdeep revealed, “I read his message and I froze. It is incredible for a star to message on his own. Putting this much effort was special for me. I wasn’t able to reply for 10-15 minutes. I was completely shocked as to how he could message me! I thought to myself, let me take a screenshot first and then I’ll think of the reply.”

About his role as Monty, the Masoom actor stated, “I think that people don’t know me personally much. They have only seen my acting projects through filtercopy and they think that I am very funny. I was waiting for this kind of role and I knew it would take time. So, I was extremely happy to transform into Monty and get a different look through it. I just wanted to show that I can pull off serious roles as well.”

Further speaking about his time working on URI: The Surgical Strike where he played the role of Ishaan, a DRDO intern, Akashdeep said, “My experience working at URI was similar to what I experienced in Masoom. I have been observing the pattern of how such projects achieve success and it can be seen through the atmosphere on the sets themselves. When every member is involved in the project and everyone understands what the script requires, it is when you know that this project will be a successful one.”
