Aishwarya Rai Bachchan shines as the Queen of Pazhuvoor in the new PS-1 poster

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Mani Ratnam’s next big project, Ponniyin Selvan-1 or PS-1 is not only the biggest project of his career but also one of the biggest projects in the Indian film industry. With a stellar cast, Ratnam is slowly walking towards the release of this magnum opus. After releasing the character posters of Chiyaan Vikram and Karthi, Lyca Productions, the banner under which the film is being produced released the character poster of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Introducing her as Queen Nandini of Pazhuvoor, the caption stated, “Vengeance has a beautiful face! Meet Nandini, the Queen of Pazhuvoor! #PS1 releasing in theatres on 30th September in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.” Aishwarya looked absolutely regal in her long wavy tresses and royal traditional attire. Deeming it as Ratnam’s dream project, Aishwarya had shared her gratitude to be able to be a part of such a huge film.

Written by Ratnam himself, the film revolves around the life of the 10^th century Chola Prince, Arulmozhi Varman, the most powerful king of the Chola dynasty and one of the many legendary kings of Indian history.

Ponniyin Selvan is one of the two parts of the historical saga that Mani Ratnam is coming up with. The Tamil-epic drama is based on the books written by the same name. It is one of the most expensive films in Indian cinema. Starring Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sarath Kumar, Vikram Prabhu, Sobhita Dhulipala, Jayaram, Prabhu, Parthiban, and Prakash Raj, the film is slated to release in the theatres on September 30.
