AFTER SUNIL JAKHAR AND HARDIK PATEL, NOW IT IS KAPIL SIBAL’S TURN

New Delhi: Only 10 days after the ‘reconciliatory’ CWC meeting (with G-23 leaders) chaired by Sonia Gandhi herself and overenthusiastic Udaipur Chintan Shivir announcements, Kapil Sibal resigns from the grand old party maybe just to get the Rajya Sabha ticket from the Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh. All said and done, Gandhis have again failed to work out some suitable strategy to check the outgoing Congress leaders. At this point, senior Congress leaders still remember Hardik Patel’s disappointing statement saying that there is a lack of seriousness at all levels in the party. Kapil Sibal’s resignation is one more such incident.

Announcing that he had resigned from Congress last week, Kapil Sibal on Wednesday filed his nomination for RS as an Independent supported by the SP.

A prominent member of the G23, which had sought an organisational overhaul in Congress.
