Actor Pratik Gandhi shares humiliating incident regarding ‘VIP Movement’ in Mumbai

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Actor Pratik Gandhi has been making a lot of noise for all the right reasons ever since he played the lead in SONY Liv’s ‘SCAM 1992’. The actor played the role of stockbroker Harshad Mehta and was critically acclaimed for his flawless performance. Recently, the actor shared a humiliating incident he had to face due to India’s apparent ‘VIP movement’.

Gandhi shared an instance on his Twitter about the huge traffic jam Mumbai had to witness on Sunday evening. Pratik said that he was travelling from the Mumbai Western Express Highway towards his shoot location when the traffic took over the road due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s VIP movement. As a result, the actor had to walk toward his location.

He wrote, “Mumbai WEH is jammed coz of “VIP” movement, I started walking on the roads to reach the shoot location and Police caught me by the shoulder and almost pushed me in some random marble warehouse to wait till without any discussion. #humiliated.”

PM Modi was present in the city as he was being awarded the first Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar award by the singer’s family. The road through which the Prime Minister was travelling was blocked for common people due to the ‘VIP movement’.

The actor is currently shooting for a lot of interesting projects with several different stars in Bollywood. He has ‘Woh Ladki Hai Kahan’ with Taapsee Pannu, ‘Dhoom Dhaam’ with Yami Gautam and an upcoming rom-com with the star-studded cast of Vidya Balan, Illeana D’cruz and Sendhil. He also is shooting for the biopic ‘Phule’ with Patralekhaa. The film is based on the life of social reformist, Jotirao Phule.

Is it right to block an entire road for hours just to let a VIP vehicle pass, is a judgment everyone views differently. But it won't be a lie if we say that every Mumbaikar can relate to Pratik's experience.
